But the reviews I read about other home video editing software say the same thing about them. I wish I had bought something else. I don't have an answer. I bought this software a year or so ago and I still use it. But it is very buggy and unreliable and crash prone.
Highly recommended. You simply can not go wrong with this product. Corel Ulead is the way to go. I studied and tried (free trial) all video studio type products and chose this product. Great and best choice, does it all very effectively.
Like all software, make sure you check the home website for patches. If you're a new to the home video editing world and you're looking for something fun and easy to use, then get Ulead. It's pretty much drag and drop.
:-(* Software doesn't have a good feature for removing commercials. There must be something better than this. * Takes about 30 minutes to turn a 20 minute video in to a MPEG2. Hard to explain here, but it is backwards of you would expect and want. Purchased a few months ago and installed on my vista machine.
Will cause you to swear when you realize you just screwed up a lot of work and time becaue the focus change.Bottom line, it works but could be better. One example: tried to create a DVD with MPEGs and WMV. I'm not sure I would pay over $30 for this product. :-( It would be easier if they would simply allow you to select what you didn't want (commercials). That is ok for somethings but is more time consuming than being able to exlcude what you don't want.
It works most of the time but I have had numerous / recreateable app crashes with this software. The software allows you to put each on the clip section but it crashes everytime a WMV is include (doesn't tell you the WMV is the issue though. Also, and this is very annoying, when you do select a clip to keep and then move to the clip / project section it changes the focus to that clip down below instead of keeping the 'focus' on the orignial clip. Additionally, the video complile is extremely slow. Instead, you can only select what you want and then you drag to the clip/project bar. You can get free tools to do this so why doesn't a tool you buy do this.
Much longer for a MPEG4.* App crashes way too often. Learned this by trial and error).* Doesn't convert FLV files from You Tube to other formats.
It is easy to use and makes video editing fun.It has may features that other programs have that cost many hundreds of dollars more. I have used Ulead Viedo products and I have to say that this is the best yet.
